It is located about one hour's pleasant game drive from Mtemere Airstrip, in the eastern side of the photographic area of Selous Game Reserve, north of the Rufiji Rver.
It lies between two beautiful lakes - Mzizimia and Siwandu - which attract a rich variety of game, both in the wet months of November, March and June, and in the dry seasons.

Impala camp is one of the smallest in the Selous, with only 8 tents, discreetly spaced apart. They are well camouflaged and overlook the river or a lagoon.
You can see but not be seen....
The Manager is Barbara Ripamonti, from Italy.
She has been at Selous Impala for some years now and is assisted by Andrea Gugliotta, Musa Makomba and Lorenzo Rossi,
together with a team of over 50 staff including our own armed chief game ranger, 6 teams of guides and, drivers, boat operators, chefs, waiters and Masaai askaris.
When you arrive you will be welcomed at the reception; you may not be the only visitors!
The camp managers will talk to you about what you would like to do and see.
They will arrange game drives, walking safaris and boat safaris to suit your wishes. Flexibility is the key here and you will decide your own programme.
The Lodge area overlooks the river and is a large and comfortable thatched low-slung building with wide verandahs.
It is a relaxed open plan area with a well stocked bar,
dining room and lounge with plenty of planters' chairs and sofas so that you can sit and scan the river and banks for game, drink in hand.
This lodge is being rebuilt further from the river, which has been eroding it steadily!

Breakfast is a good start to the day, with plenty of fresh fruit, chef baked rolls, muesli and a full English breakfast if you want it!

You will be escorted to your tent by Masaai askaris, who will watch you day and night, as animals do wander freely through the camp.
There you can make yourself comfortable and unpack, mabe take a shower or go for a cooling swim before lunch or dinner, depending on the time of your arrival.
Location & Excursions
Located on the banks of the Rufiji between Lakes Mzizimia and Siwandu, guests get a chance to see lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, warthog, kudu, impala
and a huge variety of birdlife in one of the richest game areas in Tanzania.
Game Drives, Walking and Boat Safaris are included in the excursions offered as part of the daily activities.
